What a pair of shoes!
How many times have you thought this (or said it out loud, which is absolutely OK!)? when you have seen shoes you love in a shop window on even on another girl’s feet? Or maybe you’ve seen a guy/girl in the street with whose *outfit* is the perfect combination of colours with this touch of *Stylish and Confident* that we are all looking for but suddenly the whole look is ruined, and you think to yourself, “what a pair of shoes….!
Of course, I’m talking about their condition and cleanliness.
You can wear the most up-to-date outfit with the trendiest, most stylish trainers, but if they are not clean, the whole look falls apart. It doesn’t matter what you wear – your favorite dress (the one that makes your figure look incredible); or that tie that really shows you at your most handsome – if you forget to clean your shoes the effort is wasted!
We tend to look at each starting at the head and our final impression is of the feet, where we finish. Businesspeople use this as a guide to get an idea of who you really are. Dirty shoes, badly kept, scratched or in need of repair tell a story of how you do everything else, and your style automatically loses its impact. And if you like wearing stilettos, remember, they MUST be immaculate – watch out for the worn out heel tips and the leather around them!
*stilettos* are very sexy if you take care of them, but then so can be casual trainers, boots, moccasins, boat shoes, derbies, brogues, oxfords, etc. My recommendation is not to wear the same shoes every day, even if you love them. Give them at least a couple of days’ rest and of course, keeping them immaculately clean is just the beginning! Check the entire shoe: the condition of the heel, the toe, the laces (white laces on trainers need to be washed); velcro straps, the uppers, everything. And when you take them off, return them to the box, soft-cloth bag, purpose built shelf, or wherever it is you keep them safe and dry, always standing, and never with other shoes (or anything else) on top of them. That way, you’ll keep them perfect for the next time you need them.
This summer, remember that the condition of your sandals, trainers, or favorite shoes speaks volumes about you, and how you care for your *personal image*
¡See you soon!
